Simon Bernabeu

I am a freelance full-stack engineer, currently working with Go, Rust, TypeScript and C#. For the past four years, I have worked with DoohYouLike as part of a three-person engineering team, building a complete digital-out-of-home advertising platform. I have worked on almost every layer of it: Raspberry Pi signage players, backend services, and the web interfaces used to manage them.

About me

I got into programming by accident. When I was younger, I tried to host an Ace of Spades server with custom game modes. I had no idea how to code and never managed to make it work, but it made me curious about how computers actually work. That feeling never really left.

Most of my professional experience is in full-stack development, although I personally enjoy lower-level engineering. Epitech trained me to learn new languages quickly and to work autonomously, so I am comfortable moving into a part of a system I do not know yet. In my free time, I often re-create C library functions in different languages, mostly to understand what happens below the API.
